Trump – Xi Summit
In the lead-up to President Trump’s planned visit to Beijing later this spring, now scheduled for May 14-15, for a much-anticipated summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, the Penn Project on the Future of U.S.-China Relations convenes five of its current and alumni fellows to share their expectations for the summit and what it may portend for the near-term future of U.S.-China relations. Will the U.S.-China “trade truce” continue? Are their potential costs to U.S. national security? Is there any prospect for enhanced people-to-people exchange or bilateral cooperation on shared interests? The conversation will touch on each of the thematic areas covered by the Penn Project.
