Policy Proposal

This policy proposal seeks to amend the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing (HEARTH) Act of 2009 to add an assessment of existing methodologies to count homelessness and a discussion of current trends. The amendments will address gaps in current data collection and ensure that the Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR) incorporates thorough evaluations of data collected on homelessness, highlights emerging trends, and presents a more accurate and comprehensive picture of homelessness nationwide.
