Policy Proposal
Our policy aims to standardize the definition of medical waste and its federal regulation. The primary focus is to involve the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the regulatory process, enacting an approval process for medical waste programs run by state agencies. The policy provides the EPA with a legal foundation to enforce uniform regulations, with specific criteria for handling, treating, and disposing of medical waste.
