Policy Proposal

The proposed bill aims to mandate the availability of naloxone and opioid education in every public high school across Pennsylvania. Naloxone is a life-saving opioid antagonist that can reverse the effects of an overdose, particularly those involving fentanyl, a major contributor to youth opioid deaths. This policy will provide the necessary tools to protect students and respond promptly to overdose incidents, ultimately reducing fatalities and enhancing student safety on educational premises.
